NIGSD Executive Director inaugurates the Sports Governance Forum, A first of its kind in the Middle East,

Under the patronage of Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development; (The Sports Governance Forum) under the title of (Promoting Good Governance in Sport in Egypt) was held today.
The forum was organized by NIGSD as the first sports governance forum in Egypt.
During her speech, Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that the Sports Governance Forum is the first of its kind in the Middle East, which focuses on governance and good governance in sports.Dr. Sherif reviewed the establishment of NIGSD, noting that it was one of the first training institutes in the Middle East.Sherif explained that the institute's specialization was changed to governance and sustainable development in 2020, pointing out that the institute is entrusted with training, research, and consultancy in governance and sustainable development under the slogan "Governance for Sustainable Development."Dr. Sherifa Sherif stressed that governance is an accelerating tool for implementing the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030, as governance is a continuous process to reach the desired goals. Sherif indicated that governance ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of institutions, reduces corruption, and ensures sustainable economic development and a better quality of life for citizens.In her speech, Dr. Sherifa Sharif reviewed the training programs offered by the institute.Sherif highlighted the "Be an Ambassador" initiative, which aims to spread the idea of sustainability among young people, and the "She is for a digital future" initiative, which aims to bridge the digital gender gap, in addition to training programs for women leaders.The Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development drew attention to the institute's educational platforms, referring to the Estidama platform, which includes about 54 interactive courses, in addition to the Etnji platform at the level of Africa, which includes a large number of training programs for some training institutes, which are available free of charge in Africa.
Sherif said that the most important feature that distinguishes the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development from other training institutes in Egypt is that it is an institute specialized in governance and sustainable development, in addition to the partnership with several international partners from universities and training institutes, including George Washington, Chicago Booth, and Bin Rashid Universities in Dubai, and others.
The forum was attended by senior government officials, governance and sports experts, academics, and representatives of sports federations and sports clubs from the public and private sectors and international organizations.
