The Business Climate Reform Initiative in Egypt holds a conference to launch the Legislation Guide
27 May 2022
The Business Climate Reform Initiative in Egypt (Erada) will hold a conference on Tuesday, May 31, under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the Sigma Program of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union.
The conference seeks to launch the second guide on the development of subsidiary legislation in Egyptian ministries and bodies and to highlight the importance of good legislation to implement policies.
The guide sets steps and criteria for drafting legislation and studying the legislative impact in line with economic development, providing good administrative services, and ensuring an attractive investment climate.
The conference is scheduled to witness the participation of some Egyptian ministers, representatives of Egyptian and international governmental bodies and institutions, and official speakers from the Egyptian business sector, the European Union, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
For her part, Dr. Heba Shaheen, Executive Director of the Erada Initiative, said that the initiative aims to improve and purify economic legislation, study the economic impact (laws - decisions - regulations) and simplify procedures to attract and create an attractive environment for the investor in line with global developments.
Initiators are also working on presenting suggestions and initiatives to decision-makers regarding laws related to the investment climate in light of the experiences of the leading countries.
It is worth noting that the Irada business climate reform initiative in Egypt serves as a link between the government and the private sector to improve the investment climate.
In 2019, Erada became an initiative of the Egyptian Cabinet, supervised by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and plays a key role in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, as it directs all its energy towards achieving structural reform.
