Egypt's NIGSD issues a report on the most important local and international partnerships during 2019-2022

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) issued a report on the most important local and international partnerships and agreements during the period from 2019 to May 1, 2022.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development who is also acting as Chairperson of Egypt's NIGSD indicated that the Institute aims to facilitate procedures and develop rules governing dealing with state institutions and its various agencies and to coordinate between the relevant stakeholders, whether at the central or local level.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that the institute believes in the value of exchanging experiences with training and educational institutions at the local and international levels, intending to benefit from the experiences of leading countries in the areas of management and governance.
She added that the institute's tasks include formulating national indicators for governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development, issuing periodic national reports on them, working to raise Egypt's international classification in international reports on governance and competitiveness, as well as building and developing national cadres, and providing advisory services and training to private institutions.
She added that the Institute's tasks also include carrying out research activities, statistics, opinion polls, and surveys to enhance national knowledge in the field of governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development, in partnership with relevant national, regional and international research institutions.
The report of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development indicated that during 2019, cooperation with the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science - Cairo University in the field of training, rehabilitation, and capacity building, and academic cooperation with the University of Missouri in the United States of America.
In 2020, cooperation was also made with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, the Faculty of Information, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, and Gemini Enterprise Africa; in the field of supporting the building and developing human capacities.
During the same year, Egypt's NIGSD cooperated with the Misr El-Kheir Foundation to support the activities of the Misr El-Kheir Unit to build the capacities of NGOs in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Similarly, NIGSD co-operated with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in the field of education, training, and rehabilitation, as well as cooperation with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD) at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of advisory and training services, and with the National Institute for Political Studies in Japan on academic cooperation.
In 2021, cooperation was also made with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development represented by the Egypt Award for Government Excellence on spreading the culture of government excellence, governance, and sustainable development in the units of the administrative apparatus.
Cooperation was also made with the Danish Embassy in Cairo in areas related to governance, sustainable development, green transformation, policy dialogue, and academic cooperation with the United Nations University represented by the unit working in the field of digital governance policies.
It also cooperated with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the Mohammed bin Rashid College of Government in the development and development of human capabilities, research, and studies in the field of governance and the sciences of government administration.
