Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence launches training activities for ambassadors of excellence for the Equal Opportunities and Empowering Women Award

Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence launched today in cooperation with the Economic Governance Project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID); training activities for ambassadors of excellence for the Equal Opportunities and Empowering Women Award in the ministries.
The training activities will continue from May 22-24, with the participation of representatives of the ministries of trade and industry, transport, communications and information technology, housing, military production, local development, environment, international cooperation, justice, Al-Azhar sheikhdom, Helwan, and the Al-Azhar universities.
In this context, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. HalaEl-Said said that the launch of the Equal Opportunities and Empowerment of Women Award comes in appreciation of the role of women in society and to increase the chances of their participation in government jobs.
El-Said confirmed that this award is one of the fruits of the efforts made to develop the capabilities of women in government agencies, noting that the percentage of female winners of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence in its various categories amounted to about 30% of the winners.
During the opening of the first training day, Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence, confirmed that today marks the beginning of a journey for a new category of award categories, which is the Equal Opportunities and Empowering Women Award, which was launched as a category of institutional excellence awards in the implementation of the mandates of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the Egyptian Women’s Celebration 2022.
During his speech, Mostafa reviewed the Egypt Award for Government Excellence in its various categories, stressing that the main purpose is not just to obtain the award, but the goal is to change the work culture in government institutions through a mechanism different from the traditional mechanisms by focusing on training, awareness, and motivation.
El-Said explained that the award adopts a positive stimulus approach to the participants, highlighting positive models to create positive competition among all participants, stressing that excellence is a journey that will not end with winning but is a continuous journey.
Eng. Khaled Mostafa explained that the award is one of the tributaries of achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030, to support the state’s efforts to spread and deepen the culture of excellence and institutional development in the various sectors of the state, and this award also comes in line with the national strategy for women’s empowerment.
Mustafa clarified that the door for submitting applications for electronic candidacy for the award continues until mid-June 2022, on the award’s website: egea.gov.eg.
