Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, inaugurated the activities of the third training day of the "Youth Initiative for Development".
 The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development is holding the activities on the third training day of the "Youth for Development Initiative" in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), as a conclusion to a series of training events that were provided to students and researchers of public universities participating in the initiative.
Five universities are participating in the first phase of the initiative this year: Cairo, Ain Shams, Beni Suef University, Port Said, and Mansoura.


  The first phase witnessed the presence of Dr. Muhammad Alaa, coordinator of the initiative and deputy director of the International Cooperation Office, and Dr. Dalia Khalil, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, in addition to a group of representatives of public universities, students, and researchers participating in the initiative.
Dr. Hala El-Said affirmed the Egyptian government's keenness to develop the creative and innovative capabilities of young people at the level of the governorates of the Republic.
Dr. Hala El-Said discussed with students and university coordinators ways to maximize the benefit from the work of the teams participating in the two development projects and policy papers, as well as identifying the aspects of benefit and the added value obtained by each young man and woman participating in the initiative.
 El-Said emphasized the importance of the role of Egyptian universities in creating stable and fruitful bridges for the transfer and exchange of scientific and applied opinions and ideas in various disciplines.
 This helps decision-makers to reach decisions with an effective and sustainable impact to achieve economic, social, political, and environmental development with the minds and ideas of Egypt's youth.

Dr. Muhammad Alaa explained that the current stage includes training university students participating in the initiative and conducting qualifiers at the level of each university separately to select the winning teams for the first places in each of them.
 This stage follows the appointment of a coach for each of the winning teams from experts and practitioners in the fields of public work to work with the team to develop their projects in preparation for arbitration at the national level.


The training day may include a set of fruitful and purposeful sessions to enable every Egyptian young man and woman to contribute to making a development project and policy papers with advanced and applicable outcomes within the framework of achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals.



It is worth noting that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has launched the "Youth for Development" initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (the Supreme Council of Universities); Believing in the importance of introducing young people to the programs and policies that the Egyptian state is working on.
