Egypt to dedicate 51% of government investments to the areas of human development

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the directions of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year 22/2023, its goals, and development programs come within the framework of continuing to implement the national strategy to achieve sustainable development "Egypt Vision 2030", which the ministry has been keen to update to be a living document that keeps pace with developments and changes. local and international.
This came during her delivery of the statement of the draft sustainable development plan for the fiscal year 22/2023 and the basic features of the plan document before the House of Representatives today, in the presence of the Advisor, Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of Parliament, and distinguished members of Parliament.
El-Said added that the plan is also consistent with the state's orientation to localize sustainable development goals at the governorate level and achieve balanced regional development, especially with the government represented by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - for the first time - in cooperation and fruitful partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to prepare 27 reports It monitors the progress made towards achieving the sustainable development goals in all Egyptian governorates.
El-Said pointed out that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development launched the first indicator of the competitiveness of the Egyptian governorates (in cooperation with the Information and Decision Support Center in the Council of Ministers, the Egyptian National Council for Competitiveness, and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics), which is an indicator designed to be a supportive tool to ensure the effectiveness of policies and improve development performance in the governorates.
El-Said emphasized that the government seeks, through its various development plans and programs, to continue working to achieve the strategic goal; Which is to improve the quality of life for the Egyptian citizen, with special attention to intensifying investment in people by directing 51% of government investments to the areas of human development and implementing major development projects and initiatives in the sectors of education, health, housing, and utilities.
El-Said added that the ministry is also working to contribute effectively to supporting the state's approach to digital transformation and improving the quality of services provided to citizens by continuing to implement projects to develop local services, which include developing offices across governorates and developing technological centers in neighborhoods and cities, and new urban communities.
In the context of talking about the state’s efforts to raise the level of services and improve the quality of life for the Egyptian citizen, El-Said explained that the government is also working to continue implementing many institutional development projects and raising the efficiency of performance in various institutions, as the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development launched the “Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence” for two consecutive sessions 2020, 2019).
