Citizens' health is a priority in the state's FY 2022/2023 Sustainable Development Plan: Planning Minister

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, reviewed the 22/2023 plan for the telecommunications, information technology, water resources, irrigation, and health sectors.
This came during delivering a statement of the project of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year 22/2023 and the main features of the plan document before the House of Representatives today, in the presence of Chancellor Dr. Hanafy Jabali - Speaker of Parliament, and members of Parliament.
Dr. Hala El-Said confirmed that the communications and information technology sector is one of the leading sectors with high growth, which is expected to achieve accelerated growth within 16.5% during the year of the plan.
The telecommunications sector includes government investments of about EGP 22.8 billion, with a growth rate of 22.6%, as the plan adopts the initiative of "providing the necessary funds for the growth of strategic projects in the telecommunications sector" with funds amounting to EGP 2.9 billion.
The most important of these projects are the “e-visa, the national network for unified emergency and safety services, raising the efficiency of the use of the internet and interconnection networks for the state’s administrative apparatus, and developing and modernizing the information infrastructure and digital content.”
Concerning the water resources and irrigation sector, El-Said explained that the government's investments in the sector, estimated at 17 billion pounds, including the implementation of several priority projects, and their stagnation and stagnation.
The target is to implement the first phase of it, with a length of about 5800 km, by the end of the plan year.
Also, the implementation of the project of transferring produced water from the Bahr al-Baqar drainage water treatment plant to the lands planned for cultivation in North and Central Sinai, completing the infrastructure works in the South Valley Development Project in Toshka, as well as completing the field irrigation project.
Regarding the health services sector, El-Said indicated that the plan (22/2023) aims to direct public investments worth 45.9 billion pounds, to implement many development initiatives and projects aimed at developing and improving health services.
El-Said added that it is intended to establish and develop 15 hospitals and 104 health units within the framework of the "Development of Urban Communities within "Decent Life" initiative, with funds of EGP 2.8 billion, in addition to establishing a modern, sophisticated and integrated building for central laboratories in Badr City, with funds of EGP 350 million.
