EGYPT’S PLANNING MINISTRY RELEASES ‘CITIZEN INVESTMENT PLAN’ FOR SUEZ IN FY 21/2022

General investments in the Suez governorate amount to EGP 11.5bln in FY 2021/2022
The Egyptian Planning and Economic Development Ministry announced on Sunday the general investments directed to the Suez governorate in the 2021-22 fiscal year reach EGP 11.5 billion.
This came as the ministry reviewed the investment citizen plan in the Suez governorate for the fiscal year 2021-22 after launching the citizen plan for the third year in a row.
In statements, Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala El-Said said the sustainable development plan for the 2021/2022 fiscal year attaches importance to Upper Egypt governorates to achieve a swift and tangible development and it focuses on general investments in the fields of infrastructure, social and economic to benefit all citizens nationwide, especially youths, women and people with special abilities.
She said the Citizen Investment Plan is an important database that helps citizens follow up on under-construction projects in their governorates to guarantee their high-level implementation.
The minister explained that the plan provides detailed information on the most important development indicators in each governorate and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (21/2022).
The “Citizen Investment Plan” also provides information on the investments directed within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, “a Decent Life”, the distribution of these investments among the various sectors, and the most prominent performance indicators that monitor the current state of development in each sector.
She said the number of development projects in the Suez governorate amounts to 166.
A report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 7 billion will be directed to the petroleum sector while EGP 1.1 billion were channeled to the health sector.
Suez Canal investments were estimated at EGP 932.9 million.
EGP 704 million will be allocated to the educational sector and EGP 594.6 million to the transport domain
