The Ministry of Planning honors the trainers of the support agencies in the integrated system for preparing and following up on the investment plan

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development held a ceremony in cooperation with the USAID-funded Macroeconomic Reform and Stability (MESR) project; to honor the ministry’s trainers who participated in training the support agencies in all governorates on the component of financial and in-kind follow-up of investment projects for the integrated system for the preparation and follow-up of the investment plan.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister of Planning, Mr. Gareth Davies, Head of the MESR Project, Dr. Ola Al-Khawaja, Senior Advisor to the MESR Project, and Dr. Rasha Abdel Hakim, Representative of USAID, and some Ministry leaders.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Kamali thanked the ministry’s employees of the trainers, stressing that in cooperation between the ministry and the MESR project three years ago, a qualitative leap occurred concerning the component of follow-up and evaluation of investment projects.
Kamali explained that this component is one of the most important files that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development is working on to raise the efficiency of public spending, especially investment spending.
The Deputy Minister of Planning stressed that the human factor is always the most important factor during any development and improvement process, explaining the importance of the sustainability process and the continuation of the achieved successes.
Dr. Ahmed Kamali indicated that the trainers were trained through the TOT (Training the Trainers) program to become highly qualified in communicating the necessary information and expertise to the employees of the various support agencies.
Kamali explained that 1179 trainees were trained at the level of the Republic from 352 sub-assignment agencies affiliated to 44 main reference agencies.
For her part, Dr. Ola Al-Khawaja said that the honor is the result of the joint effort between the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the MESR project in developing the integrated system for preparing and following up on the investment plan.
