The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued a report on the ‘Citizen Investment Plan’ for Giza Governorate for the year 21/2022, as part of the continued announcement of the citizen’s plan in all governorates of the Republic for the third year in a row, intending to educate citizens about the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year (21/2022). And its role in achieving the "Egypt Vision 2030".


H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, explained that the "Citizen Investment Plan" adopts the methodology of programs and performance, and evidence-based planning, as it provides detailed information on the most important development indicators at the level of each governorate, and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (21/2022).
El-Said pointed out that the plan also focuses on investments directed within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "a Decent Life", and the distribution of these investments to various sectors.The plan also sheds light on performance indicators that monitor the current development situation in each sector and the most important projects targeted for implementation, thus contributing to the citizen having a complete picture of the details of the goals of the sustainable development plan in his governorate.
El-Said added that the "citizen's plan" serves as an important database that helps citizens follow up on projects being implemented in their geographical scope (governor, center, village), to ensure the quality of their implementation following the best specifications and relevant standards, which contributes to activating community follow-up.


Regarding the citizen’s investment plan in Giza Governorate, El-Said explained that the number of development projects in the governorate amounts to 504 projects and that the value of public investments directed to Giza Governorate in the plan for the year 21/2022 amounted to EGP 66.05 billion, an increase of 102% over the plan for the year 20/2021.
Concerning the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in Giza Governorate with the plan for the year 21/2022, the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 41.58 billion were directed to the transportation sector, at 63%, followed by the housing and slum development sector, with a value of EGP 12.76 billion, or 19%. The investments in the antiquities sector amount to EGP 4.17 billion, at a rate of 7%.While the higher education and scientific research sector enjoy allocations amounting to EGP 2.12 billion, or 3%, and the pre-university education sector, EGP 1.2 billion, or 2%, while the other sectors are allocated investments worth EGP 4.22 billion.
The report indicated that the most important development goals in the housing sector in Giza Governorate in the 21/2022 plan are to direct about EGP 2.7 billion for drinking water and sanitation services, and the number of housing sector projects is 109 projects.
