The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issues a report on the citizen’s investment plan for Dakahlia Governorate for the year 21/2022

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development reviewed, in a report issued by it, the citizen's investment plan for Dakahlia Governorate for the year 21/2022.
This came within the framework of continuing to announce the citizen’s plan in all governorates of the Republic for the third year in a row, to educate citizens about the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year (21/2022), and its role in achieving “Egypt Vision 2030.”
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stressed that the launch of the "citizen's plan" reflects the state's keenness to involve citizens in the efforts made to develop the planning and follow-up systems, to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development.
The launch of the "citizen's plan" also came to contribute to addressing development gaps between the different governorates, settling the sustainable development goals, and achieving the 17th goal of the global sustainable development goal "contracting partnerships to achieve the goals."
El-Said stressed that the citizen is the real axis of development, and therefore the necessity of empowering him and providing him with data on development programs and projects that the state is implementing.
El-Said added that all development plans adopted by the state aim to improve the quality of life for citizens and that this will not be achieved without active community participation, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
El-Said pointed out that the Ministry of Planning has taken, during the last period, many steps aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability and emphasizing the importance of citizens’ participation in planning and follow-up, including issuing the report “Follow-up to the citizen in the governorates 18/2019 – 19/2020” and launching the mobile application “Sharek 2030” ".
On the citizen’s investment plan in Dakahlia Governorate, El-Said explained that the number of development projects in the governorate amounts to 333 projects and that the value of public investments directed to Dakahlia Governorate, with the plan for the year 21/2022, is 6.2 billion pounds.
Concerning the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in Dakahlia Governorate with a plan for the year 21/2022, the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 1.8 billion were directed to the housing sector and slum development at a rate of 29.3%, followed by the higher education and scientific research sector at a value of EGP 1.7 billion, then the transport sector with investments amounting to EGP 1.2 billion, or 19.4%.
The local development sector is allocated EGP 593.3 million or 9.5%, and the pre-university education sector, EGP 459.1 million, or 7.4 percent, and other sectors in the governorate are concerned with investments worth EGP 460.2 million, or 7.4 percent.
The report pointed out that the most important development goals in the housing sector and the development of slums in Dakahlia Governorate in the 21/2022 plan are to direct about EGP 1.1 billion for drinking water and sanitation services and to direct about EGP 140.3 million for electricity services, and the number of development projects in this sector is 101 project.
In the local development sector, the number of development projects is 114, including a project to establish and complete garbage recycling plants, raise efficiency and develop government massacres.
The most important development goals in the local development sector are directing EGP 274.5 million to improve the environment and paving local roads with about EGP 177 million.
