Harvest of the participation of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development in the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai 2022

Dr. Hala El-Said  participates in sessions on the role of women in promoting economic growth around the world and meets the Secretary-General of UNCTAD to review the efforts of the Egyptian state and discuss ways to enhance cooperation

The participation of Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, in the activities of the preliminary day of the World Government Summit 2022, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, witnessed intense activity, as El-Said participated in many sessions that discussed a number of the most prominent issues on the scene today.

El-Said said that the summit was an opportunity to deepen cooperation with the UAE side and build new partnerships, explaining that the summit represented a global forum to improve government performance and put forward ideas for managing the future.

The most prominent activities of the Minister during her participation in the work of the preparatory day of the summit witnessed the signing of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Chairman of the World Summit Foundation, Mohammed Al Gergawi, a memorandum of understanding to extend the strategic partnership between the Egyptian government and the UAE government in the field of government modernization.
El-Said explained that the positive results achieved under the umbrella of the strategic partnership agreement in government modernization signed between the two countries in 2018 were an incentive to strengthen the partnership to create an inspiring Arab model for constructive cooperation in the field of government work.
The visit also witnessed El-Said ’s participation in the inaugural session of the Women in Government Forum, the second edition of which brought together more than 100 women government officials and decision-makers from countries in the region and the world and international organizations, in addition to her participation in a session entitled “What is the role of women in promoting economic growth around the world” ?".
El-Said also participated in the "Philosophy of Governmental Leadership...A Dialogue with Arab Women Ministers" session during the forum, during which she emphasized that achieving gender equality and empowering women is a priority for the Egyptian state, as this was demonstrated through many legislative and institutional measures supporting women's empowerment and leadership's keenness. political.
 The state works to take measures to ensure that women are adequately represented in parliament, as determined by law. It also guarantees women the right to assume public and senior management positions in the state and to be appointed to judicial authorities and bodies, without discrimination against them.

The introductory day of the summit also witnessed El-Said 's participation in the "Emerging Markets in the Foreground" session at the Investopia Forum.
On the sidelines of her participation in the World Government Summit 2022, El-Said also met with Mrs. Bribecca Greenspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and review the efforts of the Egyptian state. During the meeting, El-Said reviewed the efforts made by the Egyptian state on some prominent issues.
