The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD), the development arm of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, celebrated the graduation of the third batch of the African Women's Executive Leadership Program.


The program was implemented through the e-learning platform ATINGI for some women working in leadership positions in African countries.

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stressed the importance of enhancing the role and influence of women in leadership positions, as well as promoting equal opportunities and gender mainstreaming among government structures.

“Empowering African women has also become an integral part of the Egyptian government’s agenda backed by the continued support of His Excellency the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during and after his presidency of the African Union in 2019,” She said.







El-Said referred to the distinguished partnership between the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development through the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Egyptian Partnership for Development Agency, which is responsible for supporting the efforts of African countries and implementing the Africa Agenda 2063.
 For her part, Dr. Sherifa Sharif, Executive Director of NIGSD, emphasized that gender equality is both an ethical and an economic imperative.

Ambassador Mohamed Khalil, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD), expressed his happiness with the success of the third session of the " African Women's Executive Leadership Program" organized by the agency in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, stressing that he is confident that the upcoming sessions will witness more success. 

 Dr. Hanan Rizk, Director of the African Development Center and Head of the Training Network of African Management Institutes (Tanmia), explained that this year, the Women's Leadership Program included 125 trainees from 20 African countries from ministries, government agencies, research and training centers, universities and non-profit organizations, and the program extended in its third edition for three weeks. From the ninth to the twenty-fifth of March.
