24 March 2022

The Rowad 2030 (Entrepreneurs 2030) Project of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development participated in the “Student Activities in Egyptian Universities” competition, which was held by the Youth Leaders Foundation to identify student activities that have a positive impact and the most important problems they face.

The competition is launched for the third year in a row and includes 500 student activities over the past two years to compete in six different areas: technology, innovation, human development, medicine, public health, simulation models, and the environment.

During her speech, Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the Rowad 2030 Project, reviewed the initiatives and activities offered by the project in the field of entrepreneurship, led by the (One Million Entrepreneurs) campaign and the Master of Entrepreneurship from Cambridge University, in addition to the Start Your Future campaign in schools and universities.
Khalil pointed out that the 2030 Pioneers Program was recently launched, which serves as a business accelerator to support women's commercial projects and provide opportunities to launch and develop their businesses.

The Director of the Rowad 2030 Project pointed out that the project is based on three main axes, namely supporting capacity building, developing youth skills in the field of entrepreneurship, and expanding the establishment and development of business incubators.

Khalil stressed that the application of these pillars contributes greatly to spreading the idea of entrepreneurship and the culture of self-employment among young people and creating a scientific community capable of supporting and spreading the idea of self-employment and innovation, thus increasing job opportunities.
Khalil inspected the competition’s advanced projects, and among the applicants was an electric car manufacturing team supported by the Rowad 2030 Project.

This car was previously ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa and sixth globally in an international competition.

The project director directed the necessity of linking the ideas of young people to the goals of sustainable development to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic development during the implementation of their projects on the ground.

During the participation, the Youth Leaders Foundation honored the director of the Rowad 2030 project in appreciation of the project’s efforts in supporting young people in the field of entrepreneurship and spreading the idea of self-employment.
During the competition activities, the students presented their ideas and goals to the judging committees that consist of the government and private sectors. The winners receive financial prizes to help them implement projects on the ground to encourage activities that support community development.
