El-Said added that talking about the necessity of women’s economic empowerment is no longer just a talk with a social dimension or aims only to achieve gender equality, but rather has become an economic necessity to maximize the use of the productive and creative energies that God has endowed with women and the added value they achieve that contribute to comprehensive and sustainable growth.El-Said pointed out that in confirmation of this, studies have shown that reducing the gender gap by 25% leads to an increase in global GDP by about $5.3 trillion.El-Said explained that the Egyptian state is working with all its institutions to implement the constitution concerning women's political and civil rights, and what this requires in creating a societal environment that helps women exercise those rights, both concerning women's economic empowerment on the one hand, and the development of the legislative structure supporting that on the other hand.
The state is also working to support and empower women through many projects and initiatives, referring to the presidential initiative for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "Decent Life" and its role in improving the living conditions of Egyptian women, as this project contributes to improving the quality of life for about 34 million women.El-Said shed light on the national project for the development of the Egyptian family that the state launched a few days ago with the honor of the President of the Republic to enhance efforts to improve the status of women, explaining that the axes of this development project represent all tributaries that aim at the supreme goal that the state sets in mind, which is to improve the quality of life for the Egyptian family.El-Said emphasized that the state's efforts and interest in women's issues did not stop there, but rather a package of programs and initiatives was implemented to work on building the capacities of Egyptian women and qualifying them for more active participation in development efforts and assuming leadership positions. El-Said added that about four thousand women from 12 governorates were trained in the Executive Women's Leadership Program launched by the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) in cooperation with the National Council for Women, the United Nations Women Organization, and the University of Missouri, USA.The program aims to cover all governorates by the end of this year, in addition to training about 7,000 women in various training programs through the National Training Academy, and as a contribution to strengthening the state’s orientation to develop cooperative relations with sister African countries. About 380 women leaders from 45 African countries have been trained in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
