The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announces the Citizen's Investment Plan for Sharkia Governorate for the year 21/2022

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development reviewed, in a report issued by it, the features of the citizen's investment plan for the Sharkia Governorate for the year 21/2022.This is in the context of continuing to announce the Citizen Investment Plan in all governorates of the Republic for the third year in a row, to educate citizens about the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year (21/2022), and its role in achieving “Egypt Vision 2030.”
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stressed that the launch of the "Citizen Investment Plan" reflects the state's keenness to involve citizens in the efforts made to develop the planning and follow-up systems, to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development, in a way that contributes to addressing development gaps between the different governorates.El-Said added that all development plans adopted by the state aim to improve the quality of life for citizens and that this will not be achieved without active community participation, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
El-Said pointed out that the Ministry of Planning has taken, during the last period, many steps aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability and emphasizing the importance of citizens’ participation in planning and follow-up, including issuing the report “Follow-up to the citizen in the governorates 18/2019 – 19/2020” and launching the mobile application “Sharek 2030” ".On the citizen’s investment plan in Sharkia Governorate, El-Said explained that the number of development projects in the province amounts to 406 projects and that the value of public investments directed to Sharkia Governorate in the plan for the year 21/2022 amounted to 8 billion pounds, with a growth rate of 27% over the plan of 20/2021.Concerning the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in Sharkia Governorate, with a plan for the year 21/2022, the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 4.4 billion were directed to the housing sector and slum development at a rate of 54.2%, followed by the higher education and scientific research sector with a value of EGP 945 million, with a rate of 54.2%. 11.8 percent and the local development sector was allocated EGP 928.8 million or 11.6 percent, then transport, EGP 841.8 million, or 10.5 percent, and the pre-university education sector, with investments amounting to EGP 559.3 million, or 6.9 percent.
The report indicated that the most important development goals in the housing sector and the development of slums in Sharkia Governorate in the 21/2022 plan are to direct about EGP 2.3 billion to the national program for social housing in the governorate, in addition to directing about 1.4 billion pounds for drinking water and sanitation services.
The number of development projects in this sector is 109, and in the local development sector, the number of development projects is 200. The most important development goals in this sector are paving local roads with about EGP 291.5 million, in addition to directing EGP 52.1 million to strengthen the electricity networks.
