Egypt's Ministry of Planning and Economic Development receives a delegation from the Kuwaiti Civil Service Bureau to review the Egyptian experience in the field of strategic management

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by Eng. Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, received a delegation from the Civil Service Bureau in the State of Kuwait intending to review the Egyptian experience in the field of strategic management, on the sidelines of the training program “Strategic Planning Leadership in the Public Sector” for 11 trainees from The Civil Service Bureau of the State of Kuwait.
Eng. Khaled Mustafa explained that the meeting came within the framework of the role played by the Ministry of Planning in leading the state's efforts towards achieving sustainable development by supervising the development of state plans consistent with Egypt's Vision 2030 at the strategic and executive levels.
Mustafa reviewed the ministry's experience in the field of strategic planning and the emergence of strategic management and the tasks it undertakes, pointing to the role the department plays in achieving the ministry's vision in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Egyptian government's work program.
Mustafa explained that the need to issue guides is the possibility to refer to them when needed, in addition to strengthening the institutional memory of the ministry, unifying concepts and terminology and ensuring the existence of one language, as well as ensuring the commitment of workers to the work cycle, steps, and timeframe specified in the evidence.
Regarding the publications of strategic management, Mustafa referred to the strategic management guide, the procedural guide to the strategic planning process, the guide to selecting the director of the strategic planning unit, the project, program, and performance management guide.
During the meeting, the strategic management team at the Ministry reviewed the nature of strategic management, planning and policies, project and program management, performance, follow-up, and evaluation.
The work team explained that the Projects, Programs, and Performance Department, through its operations and procedures, help the leaders of the various units in the state’s administrative apparatus to implement what has been set within the strategic plan of a future vision, goals, and strategic objectives, and to achieve that vision to achieve the unit’s tasks within the framework of the state’s general vision, Egypt’s Vision 2030.
