Egypt's NIGSD , Hertie School of Governance sign MoU to enhance co-operation

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - represented by Dr. Sherifa Sharif, Executive Director of the Institute, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with (Herite School of Governance).
After signing the memorandum of understanding, Dr. Sherifa Sherif explained that the areas of cooperation between the institute and the college under the memorandum of understanding include building and developing human capacities, training, research activities, and advisory services.
This cooperation is implemented through several activities represented in holding training and workshops in areas of common interest, in addition to exchanging information between the two parties, as well as holding periodic meetings to review the progress made in aspects of cooperation.
Sherif stressed that the institute is keen to establish partnerships with relevant local and international institutions to expand its expertise and benefit from prestigious scientific institutions that have made great strides in the fields of training, capacity building, education, research, and consultancy.
The cooperation efforts included aspects of cooperation between the two sides, 4 pillars represented in supporting the transformation of NIGSD, simplifying governance practices in public administration, with a focus on the institution’s self-diagnostic tools, and the importance of building the capabilities of its employees.
Sherif added that the cooperation between the two sides resulted in 4 important results, namely providing consultations on the development of the strategy and vision of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, and preparing a manual for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as a guiding document for government entities.
It is worth mentioning that Hertie College is a private university based in Berlin, the Federal Republic of Germany accredited by the state and the German Science Council. The college qualifies outstanding students to occupy leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.
