Egypt allocated EGP 34 billion as total value of public investments addressed to the province of Matrouh for FY 2021/22

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development reviewed recently in a report the features of the Investment Plan of Matrouh Governorate, as part of continuing to announce the “Citizen Investment Plan” in all governorates of the Republic for the third consecutive year. The declaration aims to educate citizens on the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the financial year (21/2022) and its role in achieving "Egypt's 2030 vision".H.E. Dr. Hala Al-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development confirmed that in the context of balanced regional development, one of the pillars under the Egypt's 2030 vision. Recent years have intensified efforts to settle sustainable development goals in the provinces to maximize the relative advantages of all governorates and put an indicator to determine the relative and competitive advantage for each governorate, according to El-SaidEl-Said added that all the development plans adopted by the state aimed at improving the quality of the lives of citizens, and that would not be achieved without active community participation, consistent with Egypt's 2030 vision. During the past period, the Ministry of Planning has taken several steps to promote transparency and accountability and confirmation of the importance of citizens in planning and follow-up.
On a citizen's investment plan in Matrouh province, Dr. Hala El-Said showed that the number of development projects in the province was 151 projects.



Concerning the value of public investments addressed to the province of Matrouh on a plan in 21/2022, El-Said noted that it amounts  to  EGP 34 billion, which increased by 129% on a plan in 20/2021.
About the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in Matrouh Governorate in a plan in 21/2022, the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development referred to an investment of EGP 23.9 billion for the transport sector by 70.2%.The electricity sector is estimated at 13.2%, the housing sector and the development of slums are EGP 3.6 billion by 10.5%, higher education and scientific research EGP 650 million by 1.9%.The aquatic resource sector is EGP 636 million by 1.8%, and other sectors of EGP 777.6 million investments by 2.3%.The most important development targets in the housing sector and the development of slums in Matrouh Governorate in a plan 21/2022 are directed at about EGP 1.2 billion for drinking water and sanitation services.
The 42 most important development projects are centralized in the sanitation sector. The most important projects of higher education and scientific research in the establishment of the University of Alamein International are the establishment and processing of the electronic examination building by the Bahrain University of Matruh, as well as completing the implementation of networks and facilities from Matrouh University.
