23 February 2022
The delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development visited the Red Sea Governorate, within the framework of field visits to the governorates carried out by the Ministry to inspect the executive position of the development projects included in the Egyptian governorates plan for the year 21/2022.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, explained that the spatial dimension is one of the main determinants of achieving comprehensive sustainable development.
Observing this dimension leads to ensuring balanced growth between the different regions of the Republic and the governorates, whether in terms of income levels, job opportunities, or the availability of education, health, and public utility services.
Therefore, the development plan pays special attention to spatial policies and programs that aim to achieve convergence in living standards and incomes between regions by addressing existing development gaps and advancing development efforts following the components, characteristics, and priorities of each region.
El-Said stressed the importance of field follow-up and evaluation on the ground, which contributes to improving the governance process and spending efficiency, especially the government's investment spending.
El-Said added that the main objective is to follow up on the projects included in the plan and to determine their implementation levels and results.
El-Said explained that the planning process must be followed up by continuous follow-up to ensure sustainability, which contributes to achieving the principles of transparency, which in turn contributes to improving citizens' life.
