The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development releases the “Citizen Investment Plan” of Gharbia in FY 2021/22

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced in a report issued by it the features of the citizen's investment plan for the Gharbia Governorate for the year 21/2022. This is in the context of continuing to announce the citizen's investment plan in all governorates of the Republic for the third year in a row.The announcement aims to educate citizens about the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year (21/2022), and its role in achieving “Egypt Vision 2030.”H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, explained that the "Citizen's Investment Plan” adopts the methodology of programs and performance and evidence-based planning.She further noted that the plan provides detailed information on the most important development indicators at the level of each governorate, and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (21/ 2022).The plan also includes directed investments within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "Decent Life", distributing these investments to different sectors.It also includes the most prominent performance indicators that monitor the current development situation in each sector and the most important projects targeted for implementation.
Regarding the Citizen’s Investment Plan in Gharbia Governorate, El-Said explained that the number of development projects in the governorate amounts to 360 and that the value of public investments directed to Gharbia Governorate, under the plan for the year 21/2022, is EGP 3.6 billion.Concerning the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in Gharbia Governorate, with the plan for the year 21/2022, the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 921.4 million were directed to the housing sector and slum development at a rate of 25.8%, followed by the higher education and scientific research sector with a value of EGP 598.5 million.
The investments of the local development sector amount to EGP 574.1 million, or 16.1 percent, the transportation sector is EGP 461.6 million or 12.9 percent, and the pre-university education sector is EGP 410.4 million, or 11.5 percent, while the other sectors are invested in with a value of EGP 609.8 million or 17.1%.The report indicated that the most important development goals in the housing sector in Gharbia Governorate in the 21/2022 plan are to direct about EGP 741.4 million for drinking water and sanitation services, and the number of housing sector projects is 115 projects. The most important development goals in the local development sector in the governorate are to pave local roads with about EGP 243.1 million, in addition to directing EGP 90.2 million to improve the environment.The number of development projects in this sector is 167 projects.
Meanwhile, targets in the higher education and scientific research sector include the implementation of 16 development projects such as the establishment of the University of Technology, the provision of machinery, equipment, and supplies to the existing faculties of Tanta University, the establishment of a hospital for kidney diseases and surgery in the medical complex in Tanta.It is worth noting that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development makes available the “Citizen's Investment Plan” for the years “19/2020” and “20/2021” on its website, as part of its keenness to increase societal awareness and inform citizens of the directions of sustainable development plans adopted by the state in each governorate separately.
