Ministers of Planning
History of the Ministry
The Ministry of Planning was established in 1958 with the aim of establishing the foundations for planning for the state’s economic programs and the various long, medium or short-term development plans that the government intends to implement. In 1960, Egypt's first five-year plan was developed, and the plans were developed over the decades until the participatory planning approach was adopted, resulting in Egypt Vision 2030 as one of its key outcomes. The vision is updated as the national version of the UN sustainable development goals.
