The
Egyptian Regulatory Reform Activity (ERRADA) is a national initiative
established in 2008. In 2019, ERRADA was endorsed at the highest
political level and affiliated to the Egyptian Cabinet by virtue of
Prime Minister Decrees No. 998 for year 2019, No.1652 for year 2019,
with the supervision of the Ministry of Planning and Economic
Development.
ERRADA mandate is to reform the Egyptian legislative and regulatory
framework in view of enhancing policy making, stimulating businesses,
encouraging investment, and establish a dialogue between government and
businesses.
ERRADA plays a key role in achieving Egypt’s sustainable development
goals and Egypt’s vision 2030 and have a direct impact on the economic
development and improvement of transparency and efficiency of government
institutions in the economic development process.
ERRADA agenda revolve around evaluating Egyptian policies and laws
transparently and assessing their implementation with evidence, backed
up by the views of citizens and stakeholders. It covers all policy areas
and aims for targeted regulation that goes no further than required, in
order to achieve objectives and bring benefits at minimum cost.
ERRADA leads the policy reform in close collaboration with the public
and private spheres of the Egyptian economy toward a streamlined,
evidence-based policy design and implementation that are consistent,
visible, and aligned with international best practices and good
governance standards.
ERRADA instruments include consultations with affected parties,
ex-ante/post regulatory impact assessment of existing and new regulation
in order to guarantee better regulations and better reform of the
investment climate.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development issues a decree appointing Dr. Heba Shahein as the Executive Director of “ERRADA”.
Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, issued a decree to appoint Dr. Heba Farouk Shahein, Executive Director of the Central Unit of Reviewing and Simplifying Procedures for the Business Reform in Egypt “ERRADA”.
Dr. Hala Al-Saeed stated that the main goal of “ERRADA” is to purify laws and legislations to support the business climate and to simplify procedures and investment in Egypt, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the priorities of the 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy.
